Wouldn't it be nice if there were no idle zones?

Wouldn't it be nice if there were no idle zones?

Imagine that! If you follow this blog, you know that we recently wrote about Grades of Green’s No Idle Zone Activity and are happy to report that they’re offering a free Webinar for interested schools and individuals!

If you’re a parent, you’re probably familiar with the parent pickup line. Maybe you bring a book or some knitting to while away the minutes until the cars start moving and your kids hop into your vehicle. But have you ever considered the effect of idling while in the pickup line?

The fact is, many parents don’t. Understandably, many feel they have plenty of other things to think about, so something as simple as shutting off your vehicle in the car pickup line may not be a priority. Grades of Green is hoping to encourage schools and parents to make pickup lines a “No Idle Zone.” Why? Well, less idling means fewer emissions and cleaner air! It’s a simple action that most of us can implement and it not only benefits the environment, but it can save you a few gallons of gas a year.

If you’re interested in learning how to implement a No Idle Zone at your school—whether you’re a parent, a school administrator, a teacher, or the head honcho at the PTA—sign up at Grades of Green’s Facebook page and remember to tune in on Wednesday, February 22nd at 3:15 PST (6:15 EST).
